This species of ant is very resilient and can typically travel well for a week or more without issues.
We pack them very well and with moist food for the journey.
We usually process orders within 1-3 days but being a live item it can take up to 5 business days before shipping due to supply and being a live product.
Western Harvester Ants (Pogonomyrmex spp.) are perfect for sand ant farms as they are naturally designed for tunneling in the sand.
These are dark colored with black to red coloring, typically 1/4" in size and very active making them perfect for ant farm viewing.
We will include extra ants in case of rough transit to ensure you receive the amount of ants you ordered.
This species as with many for ant farms can sting/bite which is painful and can cause swelling. DO NOT touch these ants with your bare hands.
